Dr. Karren (Vlahos) Downs did her medical school training at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.  Dr. Vlahos completed her Family Medicine Residency in Latrobe, PA.  She was practicing medicine in Michigan before moving to the area and joining Trumansburg Family Medicine. Dr. Vlahos describes her special interests to include preventative medicine, women’s health, and procedures.  She particularly loves family medicine because it allows her to bond with her patients throughout their entire journey through life.  She views herself as an educator and strives to empower her patients to make educated decisions about their own health and encourages patients to take an active role in their health.  In her spare time, Dr. Vlahos enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the Finger Lakes region.
